Privacy & Cookies

How VisionEngine uses necessary cookies and optional product analytics, and how you control them.

Necessary cookies

VisionEngine uses strictly necessary cookies and similar storage to sign you in, keep your account secure, remember your privacy choice, and provide features you request. These are needed for the service to work and cannot be switched off through the analytics choice.

Optional product analytics

With your explicit permission, we use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) to understand how VisionEngine is used and improve it. Optional analytics is off until you choose “Accept analytics”. It can include:

  • Pages you visit and in-app actions — e.g. creating a project, uploading images, running a baseline, reviewing predictions, training a model.
  • Device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Session recordings of how you interact with the interface, when replay is enabled.

We do not record the content of your uploaded images. All images and drawing canvases are masked out of session recordings — only the surrounding interface is captured.

If you are signed in and consent, activity is associated with your account email so browser and server events describe one account journey. Optional analytics runs only after your explicit permission. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using VisionEngine.

HubSpot and your consent choice

We use HubSpot's consent manager to show and honour the privacy choice. HubSpot browser tracking is blocked unless your effective choice permits analytics. During this Phase 1 foundation, VisionEngine does not load advertising pixels and does not use this choice to subscribe you to marketing email. HubSpot product-event and contact synchronisation are separate later work and are not enabled by this foundation.

Open-beta applications

If you apply for the VisionEngine open beta, we send the details you choose to provide in the application form to HubSpot. We use those details to assess and manage your application, contact you about it, and keep a record of the application. This application processing is necessary to provide the service you request and is separate from optional product analytics: you can apply after declining analytics.

Submitting an application does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not include your application answers in PostHog, and the form does not send HubSpot advertising identifiers, browser-tracking cookies, or your IP address. Please do not put confidential, personal, or safety-critical information in the problem-description field.

Your choices

  • Accept or decline optional analytics when the consent banner is shown.
  • Change or withdraw your choice at any time using the public control below. When signed in, you can also use Settings → Privacy. If the external consent manager is unavailable, the same control keeps a first-party turn-off action available. Withdrawal stops browser analytics immediately. For a signed-in account, the action remains available while the account change is pending or failed; once its suppression receipt is confirmed, the control explicitly reports that account-level withdrawal is confirmed.
  • We honour supported browser privacy signals, including Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, as an override that keeps optional browser tracking off. When you are signed in, either signal also creates an account withdrawal receipt even if this browser had no saved choice; account-level withdrawal is reported only after that receipt is confirmed.
  • If this notice materially changes, we ask you to choose again.

Cookie and analytics preferences

VisionEngine keeps optional analytics off until you explicitly allow it. PostHog is hosted in the EU, and uploaded image content is blocked from session replay.

Consent controls are unavailable in this environment

Optional browser analytics is off. If you previously allowed analytics while signed in, account-level server analytics may continue until a withdrawal is confirmed.

  • Necessary functionality is always available. It keeps sign-in and security working.
  • Advertising tracking is disabled. Phase 1 does not load advertising pixels.
  • Your choice applies to this browser and is synced to your account after sign-in.

Changing or withdrawing your choice stops optional browser tracking immediately. Account-level server tracking stops when the receipt is confirmed; a pending sync is shown above. See our Privacy & Cookies notice.

When you are signed in, VisionEngine keeps immutable, time-stamped account records of accepted consent decisions. Repeating an identical turn-off choice does not create a duplicate record. A different turn-off choice may require a new record; if security rate limits delay it, optional analytics stays off and the account change remains unconfirmed and retryable. Its status may show as syncing or failed until a retry succeeds.

Advertising is a separate consent category. It is disabled during Phase 1 and will not be bundled with analytics consent if introduced later.

Who processes your data

Optional product-analytics data is processed on our behalf by PostHog in the European Union. HubSpot provides the consent-management interface and, only after analytics consent, its consent-managed browser tracking. HubSpot also processes the open-beta application details described above as our CRM provider, independently of optional analytics. Essential application data is hosted by our infrastructure providers.
